His office is small and cluttered with anthropological papers and books. There is a phone on the desk and printer against the wall.

There is a coat rack next to the door.

He looks around the room and waits for his friend to come through.

Not certain what he will show Sinric.

Sinric follows Clay, keeping his head up and his face a pleasantly friendly mask. He takes in everything without showing any sign that he's seeing it for the first time.

As they step outside, he takes in deep breath - tasting the air, feeling the different quality of the sunlight, admiring the trees and the grass. Just a stranger admiring the beauty of the day. Only Clay could know how deep that appreciation runs.

A Frisbee lands at his feet and he stoops to throw it back, covering his mouth to keep from laughing as the curve of it soars in the wrong direction. He calls out an apology and gets jeered and teased light-heatedly in return.

It's September at a college campus so no one would notice if he did. They would just think he is a freshman.

Clay would have just walked away.

One of the young men goes running over to get the Frisbee.

"What sort of places would you like to see?"

"The living places." Sinric answers, his voice low and soft. "The places people gather and travel. Any place you find of particular interest. The free, open places."

He laughs at himself. "Whatever makes this place what it is."

"Okay." he starts to head south.

"This is a large city" he points towards the skyline, "But near here there are some paths that go up the mountains." the temperature is pleasant. "And there is a college area just off of campus."

"Such tall buildings." He says with admiration more than wonder.

"Collage areas are where the students live? Those who travel a distance to study?"

"The college is where they study, attend classes, and live. Near campus there are places that cater to students. Some travel far an others are staying close to home."

He points off in a direction, "I live in an apartment off campus"

"You like it here? How far are you from your people?" He pauses to toy with a falling leaf, smelling the flowers. He shares a smile and a greeting with anyone who passes, casually friendly.

[psychowolf]

"I prefer Stonehaven. We have acres of forest behind the house. Great for running. And Jeremy is there." he sounds homesick. "My people are hundreds of miles away."

Then smiles warmly when he see's the traveler playing with the leaf and flowers.

"The mountains here don't allow for a run? Or is it unsafe?" He asks curiously, glancing around to see a little market stall of fruit. He has money from the bar but he stops at accepting a sample of a local apple, thanking the stall holder gratefully.

He seems to give off an aura of happiness, like some Disney princess. It doesn't affect Clay so much but people they pass seem to walk away smiling.

"Runs here are rushed because I can't risk being seen by them" he gestures towards the humans.

Clay buys some fruit for the both of them because he is hungry too.

Clay is glad Sinric is enjoying himself.

Sinric considers that as he munches on an apple, thoughtful and quiet. "Let me think on it. I have a spell that cloaks one from view but I'm not sure how well OT would work in your other form."

"I don't need magic. Come the end of November I will be back home." he turns to Sinric, "If it is okay with Jeremy, I'll bring you through my door after I move back." he grins.

Taking a bite of his own apple.

Sinric nods and doesn't press any further.

"I'd like that very much, if your family permits. I many not be as fleet-footed as you but I would run with you gladly."

[psychowolf]

"I'll let you know. But it will have to wait until I go home for the next holiday." a few moments later. "That is a bar that they congregate in the evenings."

"The students? It's a pity it's so early in the day." Sinric loves taverns - lively debate, cheerful company.

He feels the air grow fresher as they near the edges of the town, head turned up to admire the towering buildings.

[psychowolf]

"Yes, the students. It gets noisy and they consume lots of alcohol." he looks over across the street. "We can go for a walk in the park and come back after dark." he doesn't like bars but he has been to plenty of them.

"Something that hasn't changed over a millennium." Sinric laughs, following gladly. "I understand if it's not a place you'd wish to frequent. As a professor, one must keep an austere distance."

[psychowolf]

Clay shrugs, "I go to those places with Nick when he comes to town."

"How often does he visit?"

[psychowolf]

"Not often. My family isn't supposed to visit me while I'm here." he misses them and it's been less than a week, at least in his world.

"Why not? I understood travel was easy in this time? Or is it some stricture of your family?"

He pauses to take his boots off, feeling the soft grass under his toes.

[psychowolf]

He sighs, "I tend to get in a mood each fall. Jeremy thought that getting away might help. That it might be wanderlust or something." Clay doesn't think this is correct. But maybe, he has been in a better mood.

Clay pauses while Sinric plays in the grass. A few onlookers started to stare and Clay glares at them. They stop staring and go back to their business.

"And then the bar stole you away. That can't have helped."

Sinric notices the looks. They don't bother him but he can tell they are annoying Clay so he puts his shoes back on.

[psychowolf]

"Don't let them stop you." he is used to handling onlookers.

"We're in no rush."

"They don't trouble me. I've felt the grass now. It's very pleasant but the toes do grow cold." He shrugs.

"Where else might we wander?"

Clay nods.

"This way" he leads Sinric past some restaurants and a movie theater. "Have you been to a movie before?" he doesn't know what his other friends showed him in New Orleans.


[OOC: I understand. I'm traveling for work today so I will tag as available. ]

"No, I haven't. I've heard of them but I've never seen one, other than the TV in the bar." He seems quite excited by the prospect.

"Movies last about two hours." he wanders over towards the movie theater.

"Can you spare so long today?" Sinric asks, not wanting to take up too much of Clay's time if there are other things he needs to do.

He looks up at the sign, reading the names of the movies. "Which would you recommend?"
